What is Creative Starts?
Creative Starts is Rockstar's intern program which offers practical design experiences through employment. Right now we have positions open in Publication Design - perfect for 2nd/3rd year design students!
Who are Rockstar?
The Rockstar Group is a media company which helps groups of people capture and celebrate the experiences of their community. Our team is young, fun, and eager to succeed. We don't like web design.
What do we do?
We design and create yearbooks, printed publications, videos and jewellery. The work we do is unique. We're leaders in our fields, and our clients include schools, defence forces, major banks and other businesses.
...so where will you start?
As you prepare to graduate from college, you should gain as many design skills and experiences as possible. Whether you hope to join an agency, studio, freelance or see what happens, Creative Starts equips you with solid professional design experiences that you will be very proud of.
Direct your own publication
- Make real design decisions. You call the shots on your own live client projects.
- With Rockstar's solid training, you are the publication director + designer.
- Learn and bounce ideas off other young creative professionals.
Practical Training
- With solid training, learn to confidently communicate with clients, account managers, and art-directors.
- Discover real deadlines, project delays + last minute surprises... and most importantly, how to deal!
- Master practical fundamentals: working faster, workflow, pre-press, keyboard shortcuts, baseline grids, scripts, data-merges.
- Be trained to become an InDesign expert!
Prepare for tomorrow
- Be paid a fair stipend for each project you complete.
- Design for tomorrow's publication readers including the iPad and e-books.
- Expand your breadth of skills in video production and object design.
What is most beneficial?
Work hours are flexible around your studies. Apply everything you learn back into your final semesters, and improve your results!
